The Relevant Disciple

I know that God is about to do something amazing because Satan is working overtime. We must be praying for each other. Take time to post prayers for believers you know who are under attack.

God be with those who are under attack now. Give them peace and comfort and help them realize that you are in control and that your love and power is greater than any attack that Satan can bring on. Help us to realize your will and your love that Christ continues to show to us. Help us during this situation to focus on you and use these situations to reach others for Christ. Amen.

If you have not heard by now, Ms. California lost the opportunity to be Miss USA because of her stance for the gospel. I am proud to call her a sister in Christ. She was asked if she thought that Gay Marriage should be legalized and she said that she believed in what the Bible teaches about marriage and that Jesus Christ is her personal Lord and Savior. Wow!!!!!! What a stand. If more Christians would do that then we would not be in the mess we are in. I am proud of those who take stands for Christ in the media. She has been bashed and ridiculed by the left and the media and she has stood firm. As we move as a nation away from our Christian values and heritage we will continue to see other Christians attacked for their faith. We must pray for them and support them.

I am also proud of one my youth. She took a stand last night at "The Revolution." That is our Wednesday night youth meeting. She read a something that she had written about her journey the last year. It was real and honest and the impact it made on me was great. She stood before her peers and shared her heart. I believe that it made an impact on some. I am proud of her and others who are taking a stand within our group. We have many that are willing to be vocal leaders. People who in the past stood to the back and just watched. It is amazing to see what happens when we allow the Holy Spirit to lead.

God is blessing our group and we are fighting through somethings right now. I know that Satan is on the prowl ready to destroy what God is doing. I can feel his temptations in my life and I have fallen for short periods but God continues to pick me up and continues to encourage me. Jesus Christ is my Redeemer and I am thankful to Him who has done more than I can even speak. I ask that you joy the fight for Christ and that you take your walk with Christ serious. If you have read, seen, or heard the news lately then you know about President Obama's comment about the United States not being a Christian Nation. It has upset a lot of people and a lot people have rejoiced over the comment. I for one am upset but not at the comment. I agree with his assessment of our nation. We are no longer a Christian nation. President Obama was correct in his statement and that is the sad thing. It is also sad that this man (Obama) who calls himself a Christian would support that statement. President Obama proclaims that he is a Christian. Evidence has yet to support that claim (yes scripture gives me clear right to make that statement). The United States has moved away from it's Christian heritage and moved to a Progressive Secular Nation. We are way beyond the boundaries of what the founding fathers would have imagined. We are moving towards a point were religion will not only be despised but it will be hated by the majority.

When did this begin? It began in the late 50's and early 60's with sexual revolution and the movement away from church. From that point on our nation has moved away from the traditional foundation of our country. We are no longer a Christian Nation. Secular Progress thought has dominated the Universities, Colleges, Schools, News organizations, and much more for the last 40 plus years. That is a sad fact. Our founding fathers would not recognize the country which they founded. Our history is being revised by the left or progressive movement. They are willing to twist the truth to make there side look good. This is the same group of people that have taken over mainline denominations and moved them away from there biblical heritage. History has never spoken well of nations or empires that move toward a secular progressive movement.

So what can we do? First we must turn to the true and living God in prayer. God has a purpose and plan. We should come in line with the purpose and plan and focus on God's desires and God's will. Secondly, we need to repent of our sins as a people and as a nation. Our nation has given authority to kill the innocent (unborn babies), allowed and promoted pornography to flourish, helped spread the lies of ant-Christianity, and destroyed the family through divorce. We must ask God to forgive us of our lack of willingness to stand against our nation when it supports those things. Thirdly, we must Unite for a Revolution. All who believe in the true and living God, who obey the inerrant and infallible word of God, who have trusted in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, and who are willing to stand for the truth no matter the consequences. If we are willing to be people of the book and are willing to live a life that is not ashamed of the Gospel, we can and will make a difference. The problem is that most people who sit in a pew are not willing to fight. Why? I do not have the answer. It could be that they are lazy, afraid, or simply unwilling. But for those of us who are willing, we must do this! We must Unite to start a Revolution! We must change the culture! We must spread the gospel to a lost and dying people! We must be willing to fight! We must be willing to be the people God has demand us to be!

I am willing to stand today for the gospel and yes this brings fear into my heart and mind because I am not sure what this will cost but Christ died for me and gave His all, I must be willing to give my all for Him. He is my savior and redeemer. I challenge you who read this to do the same. Without our effort our country will be lost forever. May God bless you!

This Sunday is Resurrection Sunday. With it comes the opportunity and promises of salvation. This salvation has been offered to those who accept Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. It is not universal nor can it be obtained by hard work. No one is worthy of this salvation, it is only a free gift from God. Without Resurrection Sunday, Christmas day is meaningless. It is meaningless because Christ sacrifice was needed to atone for the sins of humanity. Many have misinterpreted scripture and declared that Christ death was universal and because of that all are in heaven. I am sorry to say that they are completely mistaken. Scripture is clear that salvation comes through Christ and that means repentance and acceptance of Him as Lord and Savior. Being a Christian a part of me, it is who I have become. It plays into every action, every thought, and every deed. It is the most important part of me. I am thankful for Christ salvation. This does not mean that I have not sinned because God knows that I sin daily. My desire is to live for Christ daily and I have to examine my life on a daily basis and sometimes/often that means that I have to be corrected because of my sin.

Take the time this week to ponder the mystery of the Resurrection and look to the cross. Examine your life to see if you are truly living for God. If you are half living for him, take the time to turn to him fully today. Live for him and be willing to sacrifice completely for Him because he gave everything for you. Your best will never match his best but his best was given and your best is required. Live for Him!!!! May God bless you on this Resurrection Week.

This is a difficult post for me. As I sit here in my office this morning and write my mind and heart are broken. My brother-in-law in which I am close friends was convicted of a crime that I believe that he is innocent of committing. Yes, he did a stupid immoral thing but God is the one who deals with immorality not the law. The government deals with the legal crimes. He has repented of his sin and turned back to the Lord. I know and believe God is control and things will be OK. I am worried though about him and my sister. There relationship has been rocky during for the last few years but as of recent they have really been doing well. I believe the reason for that is because they have put their trust in the Lord. I told my sister last night that True Love Never Dies and I truly believe that.

Our country is being destroyed by divorce and I believe that is true because people do not understand what True Love is all about. It is a love that is willing to sacrifice all for the sake of the other. It is the love that Christ showed us on the cross. Satan and secular society say it is good to pleasure the flesh and our desires but God says we are to live for Him and His glory. Church it is time to stand up against Satan and Secular Society. It is time to show what True Love is all about. We can not and must not give up. Pray for our hurting families. Pray for my family as I pray for yours. God bless and I love you FBC Church Hill.
